Customised lighting control –
Light can be this smart

In 2011, an in-house embedded team was set up at LUMITRONIX® and the existing product portfolio of LED modules was expanded with intelligent control technology. The LUMITRONIX® control units are ideally equipped for a wide range of applications and can be easily integrated into luminaires. They are already extremely flexible in their standard versions, but can be customised by our embedded team in terms of both hardware and software if required. The controllers are designed so that they can be easily integrated into existing control concepts. They provide uncomplicated and user-friendly optimised energy management and the best lighting results. All products are developed, programmed and produced in Hechingen to the highest quality standards. New versions have recently been added to the portfolio, in which the extensions for CASAMBI and DALI are already integrated. Some application examples with our control units and their basic functions are presented below.


The products used are linked to the leds.de online shop. Our customers receive special prices for their projects on request. The LED modules selected as examples can of course be replaced by other LED modules, including those from other companies.

MiniController
The compact control unit for Tunable White applications

The MiniController offers a simple and cost-effective control unit for TW LED modules in the smallest of spaces. The TW module can be dimmed using the built-in push-button. The jumper can be removed manually to control the modules via the push-button in Dim2Warm mode. If the jumper is placed, brightness and colour temperature can be controlled separately.


The LED strip is mounted on an aluminium profile to enable protected installation. Due to its compact size, the MiniController can also be installed completely protected in a profile. The LED strip can therefore be used on furniture, in the kitchen or in a retail environment, for example. Depending on the mode selected, the light is controlled accordingly using the push-button.

PowerController V2
Tunable White, RGBW and single colour

The PowerController V2 is a powerful and extremely flexible control unit for many types of luminaires. The four input channels (two active and two passive) enable the connection of, for example, push-buttons, dimmers, potentiometers or sensors, while four output channels provide a great deal of flexibility when implementing a wide variety of lighting scenarios.

The PowerController V2 in one of the six pre-installed standard configurations: two TW LED modules are each controlled with two analogue push-buttons. The push-button is used to switch on the light source, while the potentiometer is used to adjust the light colour in Dim2Warm mode.
Using a programming adapter, further standard configurations can be easily loaded onto the PowerController using your own PC. The standard configurations also include programming for controlling 4x LED modules with single colours and 1x LED module with RGBW. Alternatively, customised, user-defined lighting configurations can be created and transferred to the PowerController.

PowerController V2
Sensor options for light as required

Two signal inputs of the PowerController can be used for active sensors. Motion and brightness sensors can be integrated into the control system by customising the software.

Casambi MiniController
Smart lighting control via app

The Casambi Ready module has been integrated into the compact Casambi MiniController, which enables convenient operation via smartphone or tablet using the Casambi app. Either a Tunable White module or two single-colour modules can be controlled via 2 channels using the app.

The Tunable White LED module connected to the MiniController can be dimmed and controlled in a colour temperature range of 2700 K - 6500 K in the Casambi app. A Dim2Warm mode can also be implemented. Thanks to its compact size, the MiniController can be installed together with the LED strip on a profile if required.

As part of energy management, a target brightness is set using the buttons and the brightness sensor connected via DALI regulates the brightness of the LED module accordingly. If the user does not move, the light is automatically switched off after a certain time.

PowerController Casambi
Powerful lighting control in large areas

The three PowerControllers with the connected LED modules are recognised by the Casambi app and join an existing Casambi network or form a new one. The controllers can be addressed by tapping them to control an action for all channels together or for individual channels separately.

The LED modules have been selected to represent possible lighting applications.
    - 4 x single-colour MiniMatrix modules as an example of a group of lamps in a room or department (retail)
    - 1 x RGB flex strip + "W" as MiniMatrix; as an example of ambient lighting + white light in a living area
    - 2 x Tunable White modules; as an example when installed in a luminaire with direct and indirect component or as uplight and downlight
