The minds behind LUMITRONIX
Since its founding, our company has continued to develop. This anniversary is an opportunity for us to personally look back on two decades of LUMITRONIX.

FOUNDER AND MANAGING DIRECTOR

I once said to Paul Sparenborg: "We'll never need more than 10 people for our business." Paul replied: "If we grow well, we could certainly reach 20 at some point." Today we are 50.
The post-COVID crisis period was particularly challenging, as we had to part ways with some employees with heavy hearts. The day of this announcement deeply moved me. On the one hand, because of the gravity of the news, and on the other hand, because of the great understanding and solidarity I experienced among the staff and even among those directly affected.
Previously, creative chaos reigned in some areas. In some offices, there was hardly any table space to be seen. With the introduction of a clean desk policy, we changed that overnight. Today, we are regularly praised by our business partners and auditors for our clean, well-organized premises.
How Paul (Sparenborg) and I, in our younger years, seized every opportunity (no matter how unprofessional) to sell our products. Even at LAN parties or with our own Christmas light stall at the Christmas market. There are also some great stories from boisterous Christmas and Carnival parties, but unfortunately, I'm not allowed to tell them.

The major breakthrough of LEDs in all areas of application was, for me, a foregone conclusion from the very beginning. In retrospect, I started with great naivety and ignorance, but that's precisely what probably helped me to confidently believe in the undeniable future of the technology and, consequently, of our work.
The past few years have been marked by a harsh landing in economic reality. We had to make decisions that deeply affected me on a personal level. I am proud of the solidarity and support we experienced during these difficult years. However, it was not an easy path, and we also had to endure some painful setbacks.
The move in 2019 to our own, newly renovated building was particularly wonderful. It's a comfortable place to work, and we have a very efficient work environment that helps us meet our daily challenges.
One of our developers suddenly stormed out of the lab shouting "Gas alarm!" – completely covered in paint. It was, of course, totally harmless, but unfortunately, we were in the building with a TÜV auditor at that exact moment.

When I started at LUMITRONIX, my brother's company, I didn't know what to expect. What impressed me from the very beginning was the trust placed in me: I had the space to develop, take on responsibility, contribute my own ideas, and build something. This trust spurred me on to put it into practice and make the most of it, in what was then a small company that had to hold its own in a burgeoning market.
I have very fond memories of the department head meeting in Austria. I didn't feel like I was working at all, but rather like I was enjoying a holiday with my friends, letting new ideas flourish. I also felt a wonderful sense of connection with my colleagues and the company, which still resonates today when I think back on it.
In fact, the setup of the production line and the production processes for our industrial sector, directly from my apprenticeship experience. Along with that, I gained know-how and built a team. Looking back, I believe that was the biggest achievement in a short time and cost me/us a lot of hard work.
How in the early days I tried to get old pick-and-place machines (Siemens S25) working until late into the night by going through various service and calibration processes using floppy disks – and how during my training in electronics manufacturing I did manual assembly work without actually having any idea about electronics manufacturing.

…to everyone who has helped shape LUMITRONIX into what it is today and has supported us along the way: our partners, customers, and employees.
